At The Ohio State University at Lima, future teachers
first earn a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in
content areas and then complete their teacher licensure
with the Master of Education program, a five-quarter
sequence of courses combining university study and
classroom-based experiences. The MEd program at The
Ohio State Univesity at Lima begins in the summer quarter,
and ends the following summer.
Early Childhood students become licensed to teach grades
pre-kindergarten through grade three, and Middle Childhood
students become licensed to teach grades four through
grades nine in two areas of concentration. Middle Childhood
students choose from the following areas of concentration:
mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies.
