It is very important to research and find every resource available to teachers, students and the community. These websites in this online workshop will assist you in many ways. Keep in mind that you are working on this course to strengthen your abilities. Each participant in the course works at their own pace and should check in with the instructor as often as needed to get assistance.

    This is the 727.50  & 692.50  course web page for you to begin your online course work in Simply iMovie
    iMovie is a Mac software only available on the Mac OSX platform.  Movie Maker as another workshop option for students.

    Your first task is to go to the Simply iMovie Web Materials Page - http://lima.osu.edu/academics/education/ed_simplyiMovie2.html

    Spend one hour or so looking at the resources and links. This will get you acquainted to the resources available.

    Now it is time to contact Sue to discuss the project you are thinking about working on. Approval and some directions will be needed to begin. After our discussion you will begin your video.

    Your second task is to create a log or journal of the hours you spend working on this course. I do not need to have a long description.

    • ie: Taking photos or gathering video to use in movie - 4/2/2009 - 2 hours
    • Importing video and editing- 4/16/09 - 1.5 hours

     Third Task - Lets begin your assignments for this course. I will be working with you as close as you feel you need me to be. iMovie 08 and 09 tutorials will assist you if you are using the newer version of iMovie. If you need additional help beyond my podcast for iMovie HD I will be happy to assist you. I am including a short list of steps.

    1. Collect photos or gathering video to use in movie  (if you need to scann images to put into your video) Categorize the images and video into a theme or groups for interest.
    2. Importing video and still images into iMovie
    3. Place the images and video in the correct order
    4. Edit video (if you need to cut or shorten any video, it should be done now) Don't forget to add a Title page and Credit page for this video.
    5. Add the titles and any other text
    6. Add the transitions (do not over do this) Watch your timing on your images so that you do not loose time on the image file.
    7. Select and import the music (I recommend putting the music into iTune for the best quality)
    8. Edit the sound and work out the volume and timing
    9. Add voice over if needed

    If you are taking this course for the first time. You are taking  Simply iMovie.  You will need to include the following information for the credit hour(s) you have registered.

    Participants who are taking 1st hour of Credit

    • Be introduced to The Ohio State University at Limas Education home page and the Lecturers home page for resources and classroom materials on iMovie and MovieMaker (depending on which software they choose to use)
    • 10 or more hours of online instruction will done in digital video media (with a log turned in of the hours)
    • Demonstrations, tutorials and hands on activities will be the focus.
    • Examples of how this digital video can be used in the educational setting will be a focus in this workshop.
    • Write a one page, single spaced paper on how this digital media software experience could be used in their classroom in the future.

    Participants who take 2 hrs of credit

    • Be introduced to The Ohio State University at Limas Education home page and the Lecturers home page for resources and classroom materials on iMovie and MovieMaker (depending on which software they choose to use)
    • Turn in a log of how many hours you spent on this course work
    • Examples of how this digital video can be used in the educational setting will be a focus in this workshop.
    • Create a 5 to 10 min. digital video using either iMovie or MovieMaker software. This digital video will demonstrate their knowledge and skills of the software.
    • Write a one page, single spaced paper on how this digital media software experience could be used in their classroom in the future.

    Participants who take 3 or 4 hrs of credit individuals skills by the student will determine the timing of the final project.

    • Be introduced to The Ohio State University at Limas Education home page and the Lecturers home page for resources and classroom materials on iMovie and MovieMaker (depending on which software they choose to use)
    • Turn in a log of how many hours you spent on this course work
    • Examples of how this digital video can be used in the educational setting will be a focus in this workshop.
    • Create a 10 to 15 min. digital video using either iMovie software. This digital video will demonstrate their knowledge and skills of the software.
    • Write a one page, single spaced paper on how this digital media software experience could be used in their classroom in the future.
