Sandra Liechty
Adjunct Instructor Sandra Liechty lived and
worked in Japan from 1964 through 1986 as a missionary teacher. The first 4
year term was spent in Miyazaki City, Kyushu followed by a
second term of 6 months in Kobe, Japan and then 5 years in Kagoshima City,
Kyushu. A third term assignment took them to Urawa City in Saitama
Prefecture on the north edge of Tokyo for 9 years. Carl and Sandra raised
two children in Japan and taught English in a wide variety of settings
including local universities, high schools and junior high schools, as well
as to numerous private community groups.
Since returning to Ohio in Fall of 1986, Sandra has taught Japanese at The
University of Findlay, Ohio Northern University, and at Ohio State
University at Lima. She also does private language and cultural training for
Honda of America in Marysville, Ohio. She has been with OSU/Lima for the
past 13 years."
