Music 101.01 Applied Music for Non-majors Group Instruction I -- Piano
This class is designed to introduce and develop basic music reading and performance skills at the piano.
Music 102.01 Applied Music for Non-majors Group Instruction II -- Piano
This class is designed as a continuation for students who have successfully completed Music 101.01. This class may also benefit people who have some background in piano and would like to continue to develop their musicianship skills on the piano.
Music 101.02 Voice Class
Applied Music for Non-majors. Group Instruction in the basics of singing.
Art Education 160 U 5 Art and Music since 1945
This class is designed as a survey of the visual and performing arts in the western world since 1945. Historical artist as well as current trends in the art world are observed and discussed.
Music 200.35: Beginning Guitar I U 2
This class is designed for students who want to learn simple guitar skills. Students will learn beginning chords and finger-picking patterns to accompany songs. This course is for beginning students only. Students must have an acoustic guitar to enroll.
Music 200.35: Intermediate Guitar II U 2 Enrollment requires permission by instructor.
This class is designed as a continuation for students who have completed Guitar I or for those who have demonstrated readiness to progress to an intermediate playing level. Intermediate level finger-picking and strumming patterns will be introduced, along with bar chords and other colorful harmonies. Students must have an acoustic guitar to enroll.
Music 208.01 Piano U 1 Small Ensembles – Piano
This class is designed for those people who have completed Music 101.01 and Music 102.01. It is a class dedicated to the development of ensemble playing with more than one person at a keyboard or the use of multiple keyboard instruments.
Music 221: Music Theory I U 3
Learn to read music, write simple melodies, and harmonize your tunes on the piano, guitar, or classroom instruments. Perfect for the songwriter and non-music major.
Music 250 Music Cultures of the World
A survey of musical cultures outside the Western European tradition of the fine arts.
Music 251 U 5 History of Western Art Music
The class is to designed to provide meaningful listening and discussion experiences with respect to Western Art Music composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Chaikovsky, Stravinsky etc. Pertinent styles, forms, and composers from throughout music history will be explored.
Music 251H Honors-Introduction to Music
Music 341 U 5 Music in the United States
This class is designed to explore the effect Western European Art Music had on American composers as it relates to American life and culture from colonial times to the present.
Music 345.01 American Folk Music
Students will learn the history of American folk song traditions from the 18th century to the present with many musical examples included.
Music 370 Music for Elementary Teachers U 3 Enrollment requires permission by instructor.
Music literature and teaching aids for children, including singing, rhythmic, creative, and listening experiences, and their presentation.
