The Phillip A. Heath Center for Teaching and Learning makes a high-quality education accessible to all students by offering a welcoming, respectful and academically supportive environment. The Center works with faculty and staff to support students in all disciplines and of all ability levels.

In an average month, students make more than 1200 visits to the state-of-the-art facility to take advantage of a variety of testing services, individual tutoring and many other student services.

Section titles below link to expanded information for each service area:
Writing Center

Students can find assistance for specific projects and their general writing skills in a caring, supportive environment.   Hours are:

  • Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Friday 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Mathematics Center

Assistance is available in mathematics and statistics.  Hours are:

  • Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

and are subject to change.

Spanish Tutorials

  • Monday 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.
  • Wednesday 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Chemistry and Physics Tutorials: The Science Corner

Tutors are able to assist in chemistry and physics.

Study Skills

Learning Center Staff

The staff and students of the Learning Center are always ready to help. Meet them here and check out student job opportunities.

Placement Testing

Placement testing is available for math, English and foreign languages (Spanish, German, French, Latin).  Call (419) 995-8266 or e-mail higgins.2@osu.edu for more information.

EM Testing

The Credit by Examination Program allows students to progress more rapidly toward their educational goals by reducing the time and money normally required for degree completion. The EM program rewards students for their knowledge and challenges them to acquire new knowledge and greater understanding. Contact Steve Higgins at (419) 995-8266 or higgins.2@osu.edu
