Head Coach
Abe Ambroza enters his 4th season as the Head Baseball Coach for the Barons. During his tenure he has led the Barons to an ORCC record of 28 wins & 12 losses, and an overall record of 55 wins & 53 losses. In 2010, Ambroza led the Barons to an ORCC East Division Championship and in 2011 to an ORCC Tournament Runner Up finish. The 2010 Championship was the first ORCC Championship for Barons Baseball since 1993.
Ambroza came to the Barons after spending 2 years as an assistant at his Alma Mater, Central Michigan University from 2005 to 2007. Ambroza also served as the Recruiting Coordinator/Assistant Coach at Loyola University of New Orleans for the 2004/05 season. During his summers, Ambroza has amassed additional coaching experience serving as an assistant coach for the Lima Locos, a member of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League for two summers as well as heading a Connie Mack team based in Mt. Pleasant, MI called the Central Michigan Stars whom reached the U.S. semifinals during his second season at the helm.
Ambroza split his college years between Ohio Northern University, where he lettered his freshman and sophomore years, and with Central Michigan University where he was a member of the 1999 Chippewas. Ambroza ended his collegiate career serving as a player/coach of the CMU Club Baseball program, which made it to the Inaugural National Club Baseball Association World Series in Syracuse, NY, where they fell in their semifinal matchup with the Baseball Club from the University of Texas.
Ambroza is from Rushmore, OH, and is a graduate of Columbus Grove High School. Ambroza also is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Studies. Coach Ambroza likes to stay active in his community as he is currently a member of the Lima Breakfast Optimists. He is currently working towards a Master’s Degree from Ohio State while residing in Pandora, OH with his wife Sara.

The Barons compete in the Ohio Regional Campus Conference. O.R.C.C. baseball consists of nine programs. There is a regular season champion as well as a post season tournament held at the end of the year at a chosen host site. The Barons will play 35 to 40 games against ORCC, NCAA, NAIA, and USCAA opponents. Walk on tryouts for the baseball team take place the 2nd week of the Autumn Semester. The season starts late February and ends in mid May. The Barons follow the rules set forth by the NCAA.
