Barons Womens Basketball 2014 Mid Season Report

Lima, OH-The Barons Womenís Basketball team has hit the mid point in their season with a record of 4 & 8 overall, and 2 & 5 in ORCC play.

With noticeable improvements being made, Coach Sensabaugh has been happy with how his ladies have been playing together as a team, with solid defense stepping up and being a key reason for the successes they have had thus far.

When asked about a key moment in the season that the team has been able to build on, Coach Sensabaugh was quick to point to the December 17th matchup with OU Chillicothe. On that night the Barons trailed by as many as 19 points in the 2nd half, but they showed great heart that night and fought all the way back for the 4 point victory, 64-60!

That single game, could be the key ingredient to success for this young team. Though the beginning of this season may not be going as well as some had hoped, these ladies arenít showing any quit, and look to have the confidence of a team ready to make a late run!

Some statistical leaders for the Barons are, Freshman Guard, Katie Stahl out of Celina H.S., currently leading the Barons in both points per game and rebounds per game at 16.6 points per game and 15 boards per game. Other key contributors are, Junior Forward Dionna Hurley of Lima Senior HS. with 14 points per game and 11 rebounds per game, Sophomore Guard Kaylee Hooker of Hardin Northern H.S. with 11 points per game and 6 rebounds per game, and Freshman Danielle Bihn of Celina H.S. with 8 points per game and 8 rebounds per game.

The Barons return to action tonight in The Hangar to make up their game with MU Middletown. Tip off is set for 5:30. Come out and support your Barons!
