Marsh Marigold
Marsh Marigold (Caltha palustris)
In flower April 14 - April 30.
Plant 6-30 inches tall. The shiny yellow flowers resemble those
of buttercups because this genus is closely related to
buttercups. Leaves are heart shaped and appear to sit
horizontally on top of their petioles (stalks). This plant grows
in low swampy places and is particularly abundant near the end of
the short circular trail at the west end of the Galvin faculty
parking lot.
