Barons form summer league for current students
and alumni
Season opener set for this Saturday
The Lima Campus Barons baseball team
will play in their first-ever summer league game against the Ottawa American
Legion at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Ottawa City Park. The Barons
summer league baseball team is comprised of current students and alumni of Ohio
State Lima and Rhodes State College.
“The summer league gives our
students additional experience beyond the regular season and helps to keep them
active on our campus,” said Abe Ambroza, coordinator of the Barons summer
league. “Plus, it allows students to interact with fellow alumni and community
members from other teams.”
The team has 14 games scheduled
through mid-July and is still accepting additional team members. Anyone
interested in playing on the Barons team should contact Abe Ambroza at ambroza.1@osu.edu.
Saturday’s game is free and open to
the public.
