April 15 Golf Clinic open to golfers of all ages, skill levels

The Ohio State University at Lima/Rhodes State golf team will host a golf clinic for both male and female golfers from 1:00-4:30 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2007, in the Cook Hall Gymnasium. Doors open at noon. This clinic is for all ages and all skill levels. Both the beginning and more experienced golfer can attend and learn more about the game of golf.

Area golf vendors will be on hand to allow you to see and try the newest of golf equipment of 2007. The cost of the clinic is $5 for middle and high school students and $10 for adults. Reservations are not required and the clinic cost can be paid at the door on the day of the clinic.

Most of the instruction will be in small groups according to ability and will stress the following areas:

1. Golf etiquette – including rules
2. Correct set-up over the golf ball
3. Correct golf mechanics
4. Putting, chipping and driving of the golf ball
5. Conditioning and stretching before a round of golf
6. Explanation of the Lima area junior golf program

You may bring your own putter, one long iron and a driver but clubs will also be available if you choose not to bring any.

Instructors for the clinic will include Tom Bader, Matt Holtzberry, Tim Heinz, Scott Richards, Randy Fraley, George Palombi, Jim Penn, Jim Carder, Lynn Mohler, the members of the Baron’s golf team and several other area golfers.
