Julie Burris named Barons Women’s Basketball coach

Julie Burris of Lima has been named the new women’s basketball coach for the Ohio State Lima/Rhodes State Barons.

Burris earned her Masters of Education degree from The Ohio State University and played on the Barons’ team for three years. She has taught third grade at Independence Elementary in Lima since 1998. She has coached volleyball and basketball for both Lima Central Catholic and the Lima City Schools from the junior high to varsity levels.

She will be assisted by her husband, Chris, whom she met while she was playing on the Barons’ women’s basketball team and he on the men’s.
