Media Alert: ‘Vampires and Zombies in Popular
Culture’ takes a bite out of Ohio State Lima
The Ohio State University at
Lima’s Office of First Year Experience will host a vampire-themed lecture at
7:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2009, in Science 165 on the Ohio State Lima
Campus. The same lecture also will be presented at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, October
27, 2009, at the Metro University Student Housing and Education Center, 3125 Ada Road.
The Semiotics: Vampires
and Zombies in Popular Culture lectures will feature Doug Sutton-Ramspeck,
assistant professor of English at Ohio State Lima. Sutton-Ramspeck’s
interest in this topic stems from how popular culture views and analyzes signs
and symbols relating to vampires and zombies. He has taught elements of popular
culture in several of his English classes and says students find it interesting
and demanding.
Lectures are open to all
Ohio State Lima students. Seating is limited at both locations.
