Ohio State Lima gears up for Beat Michigan Week

Buckeyes on the Lima Campus are ready to show their scarlet and gray during the weeklong activities that precede the OSU/Michigan game on Sat., Nov. 21, 2009. Below is a list of events planned for students, faculty and staff at Ohio State Lima:

Monday: A Pep Rally with the Pep Band in the Galvin Commons at 12:45 p.m. School songs, hot drinks, candy and prizes.

Tuesday: Buckeye Bake Off and Bake Sale in Galvin Lobby. Bake off judging begins at 11 a.m. and the sale runs from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Proceeds from the bake sale benefit the Lima Staff Advisory Council (LSAC) Hardship Fund.

Wednesday: Beat Michigan Door Contest. Judging begins at 11 a.m. in the Public Service Building and continues all over campus until 1 p.m. People’s Choice Award voting begins on Thursday at Lima.OSU.edu/BeatMichigan.

Thursday: Beat Michigan Family Night kicks off at 4 p.m. with a Faculty/Staff versus Students Flag Football game at the Baseball Diamond. Championship Powder Puff starts at 4:30 p.m. and Flag Football Championship at 5 p.m. A bonfire of hot dogs and s’mores at the firepit near the Observatory will start around 6 p.m.

Friday: Chili Extravaganza from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in Galvin Commons. Also at the Chili Extravaganza, a Buckeye Spirit Award for the most spirited Ohio State outfit.

Buckeye Tailgate and Open House for prospective students and their families from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Beat Michigan Theatre Reception following the 7 p.m. performance of Theatre for Young Audiences’ The Reluctant Banshee in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts. For more information on this event, call the Box Office at (419) 995-8382.
