Ohio State Lima holds first Undergraduate Research Forum April 29
Undergraduate students will present their research at the Ohio State University at Lima’s first Undergraduate Research Forum from 12:30-2:30 p.m., Thurs., April 29, 2010, in the Lima Campus Library in Cook Hall.
“This forum was established to encourage undergraduate research at Ohio State Lima, and to provide an opportunity to share research publicly,” said Tina Schneider, chair of the Undergraduate Research Mentoring Committee. “With this forum, students have the opportunity to conduct original research, develop advanced research skills, and to work closely with faculty members, who are active researchers themselves.”
Each student or group of students worked with a faculty member to develop the projects. Nine presentations are planned. Several of the students will also participate in the Richard J. and Martha D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum in May in Columbus.
A panel of judges is made up of three faculty members and one student. The first place winner will receive $300, second $200 and third $100. Prizes will be awarded at Ohio State Lima’s annual awards and honors ceremony June 4, 2010.
The presentation posters will remain on display in the reference collection of the library until May 7.
