General Dynamics increases support for Ohio State Lima engineering students
More engineering students at The Ohio State University at Lima will receive scholarship support thanks to a $10,000 gift from General Dynamics Land Systems. Officials from General Dynamics will present a check to Ohio State Lima at 12:30 p.m., Mon., Dec. 20, 2010, at the General Dynamics facility on Buckeye Road.
“We are proud to continue this local partnership with General Dynamics,” said Dr. John Snyder, dean and director at Ohio State Lima. “Not only are they helping us meet a workforce need in our community, but they’re also helping even more students achieve their educational goals.”
Established in 2003, the General Dynamics Land Systems Science and Engineering Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to students who are pursuing a degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial or software engineering at Ohio State Lima.
The gift is being made while faculty and staff from the College of Engineering are in town to meet with Ohio State Lima leadership and other manufacturing plants to explore offering the introductory engineering course sequence at Ohio State Lima.
