Media Alert: Lima Campus to host OACAC Articulation
More than 350 high school and college counselors to attend
The Ohio State University at Lima and Rhodes State College will host the Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling (OACAC) Northwest Ohio Articulation from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Wed., Sept. 14, 2011, on the shared campus of Ohio State Lima and Rhodes State.
"Ohio State Lima and Rhodes State are excited to have this opportunity to showcase what our campus has to offer," said Beth Keehn, associate director for Ohio State Lima and director of Enrollment Services. "High school counselors from all over northwest and north central Ohio, some who have never been to our campus, will have a chance to meet our staffs and take a tour, and hopefully then feel very comfortable recommending us to their high school students."
OACAC Articulation workshops are held each September for high school and college counselors to gather information about colleges and universities in Ohio and the region and to network with each other. Updates from the CollegeBoard, ACT, private colleges and universities, public universities and two-year colleges are provided throughout the day. During a college fair in the afternoon, high school guidance counselors can pick up materials from nearly 125 colleges and universities to stock up the resource rooms in their high schools.
The opening session begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts in Reed Hall. Workshops will be in the Theatre, Science 100 and Science 165 throughout the morning. Lunch will be at 12:30 p.m. on the Quad. The college fair starts at 1:15 p.m. in Cook Hall Gym. This is the first year that the Lima Campus will host the OACAC articulation. The event is not open to the general public.
