Lima Homecoming King and Queen crowned at Ohio State ceremony
The Lima Homecoming King and Queen were announced during a special ceremony Fri., Oct. 28, 2011, at the Longaberger Alumni House on the Columbus Campus. Susanna Nicol, Wapakoneta, a junior with a dual major in early childhood education and psychology was crowned the 2011 Lima Homecoming Queen. Ray Moy, Troy, a sophomore pharmaceutical sciences/pre-pharmacy major was named the Lima Homecoming King.
Nicol and Moy were among six Ohio State Lima students who represented their campus on Ohio State’s Homecoming Court during the Homecoming Week 2011. This was the first time ever that regional campuses had Homecoming Court royalty included in the University-wide homecoming celebration.
Other Lima Homecoming Court candidates included Cody Kramer, Harrod; Lance McPherson, Huntsville; Katherine Kleffner, Lima; and Melissa McKenzie, Bellefontaine.
The Lima Homecoming Court was selected from a pool of applicants based on their leadership qualities, spirit, integrity, scholastic performance and achievement through their contributions and involvement at Ohio State. A selection committee interviewed each applicant and chose three male and three female students to comprise the Lima Homecoming Court. The application and interview scores were combined with the student body vote to determine Lima’s king and queen.
The Lima Homecoming Court candidates participated in week-long activities on the Lima Campus last week and joined the University-wide Homecoming Court Friday for the Homecoming Parade down High Street. They were also recognized during the homecoming game versus Wisconsin, Sat., Oct. 29, 2011.
