William White to headline Spring for Scholarships Dinner and Auction

Tickets are now available for the Ohio State Lima’s Ninth Annual Spring for Scholarships Dinner and Auction, Mon., April 16, 2012, at the Shawnee Country Club. Doors open at 6 p.m. A special Sponsors’ Reception will be held from 5-6 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Willliam White, a former Ohio State and NFL football player and director of development for Ohio State’s College of Engineering. White, a Lima native, played for the Buckeyes from 1984-1987 before being drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1988 and playing professionally for 11 years. He ended his career with the Atlanta Falcons after Super Bowl XXXIII, where he led the team with 13 tackles. Since 2001, he has served as director of Trazer Technologies Inc., a world leader in the use of computer-based simulation for the improvement of health, physical performance and fitness. He is also a founding member of Traq Ltd., a new fitness center primarily focused on addressing the childhood obesity crisis. White holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from Ohio State.

A variety of auction items, including Ohio State memorabilia, jewelry and other special gifts, will be available in either the silent or live auction. Tickets are $50 for individuals and include dinner. Several sponsorship levels are also available. Proceeds from the evening support Ohio State Lima student scholarships.
