Ohio State Lima says ÔHappy Trails’ to the final May Week
The Ohio State University at Lima says "Happy Trails" to the final May Week during the weeklong western-themed celebration. The rain location for all outdoor May Week activities is the Cook Hall Gym. For more information on campus events, go to Lima.OSU.edu/calendar.
May Week Events
12:40 p.m., Mon., April 30, 2012, Quad
The official start of May Week is kicked off with a performance by Ohio State Lima’s University Band. Immediately following the band’s performance, members of the Psych Club will draw the winners from their month-long fundraiser for Autism Speaks. The drawing will start around 1:15 p.m.
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Tues., May 1, 2012, Quad
Students, faculty and staff will enjoy free beans and franks at the Chuck Wagon. The Campus Marketplace will also be open with booths and activities from nearly two dozen student organizations. Some activities include a Nerf Pistol Shoot Out, hayrides, a farm animal awareness exhibit, free mustaches and pet bandanas.

The Campus Marketplace is open again and participants can pose for photos in the Big Red Chair. Ohio State Lima’s a cappella group, Carmony, performs live at 12:40 p.m.

Western May Week draws to a close with a Casino Night. Faculty, staff and students can try their hands at big six wheel, black jack, craps, Texas hold Ôem, and roulette for the chance to win prizes. The evening ends with a viewing of the movie Puss in Boots at 9 p.m. in Science 100.

Clean-up efforts from May Week begin, with a break from 12:00-12:45 p.m. in the Galvin Game Room for lunch to thank all of the volunteers.

Ohio State Lima hosts the Buckeye Creativity Awards for Allen County High School Students. Twenty-one high school students from Allen County will be recognized and rewarded for their creative works submitted to the yearly contest. The competition has a freshman/sophomore and junior/senior division. Within each division, there are four categories: poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction and art. Winners will receive cash prizes and a $300 voucher to Ohio State Lima.
4 p.m., Wed., May 2, 2012, Barons Baseball field
Students take on the faculty and staff during the fifth annual All-American Baseball game where players use the original rules of baseball. This means no gloves, no sliding and more than three strikes allowed. Warm-up begins at 3:30 p.m.

Ohio State Lima hosts the third annual Lima Campus Undergraduate Research Forum poster session. Fourteen students will display the results of their research, which they have worked with faculty members to develop throughout the year. Several of the students will also participate in the Richard J. and Martha D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum in May in Columbus.
