Performing Arts and Lecture Series announced for Autumn Semester
The Performing Arts and Lecture Series (PALS) brings a record producer, Ohio storyteller and a man who discovered a life changing detail in his thirties to the shared campus of The Ohio State University at Lima and Rhodes State College during Autumn Semester 2012.
"Incognito," a one-man play with Michael Sidney Fosberg

Michael Sidney Fosberg’s "Incognito" is a one-hour solo-theatrical presentation. Fosberg relates his story of growing up believing he was white, then discovering in his thirties that he is actually black. In his hilarious and deeply emotional one-man play, he guides his audience on a discovery of self; filled with issues of race, diversity, family history, divorce, adoption, and finding a father. Co-sponsored by Ohio State Lima and Rhodes State College. Supported by PALS, Student Activities and the Office of Institutional Diversity.

Celeste Friedman has charmed audiences of all ages as a singer-songwriter, author, pianist, vocalist, radio personality and keynote speaker since the late 1970s. A Native Ohioan, Celeste brings you stories of Ohio’s history, its famous inventors, eight U.S. Presidents from Ohio, the roots of Ohio’s industry, the Ohio State flag and symbols, as well as Ohio’s role in changing our nation and our world. Celeste shares her original songs about the great Buckeye State. Friedman is a member of The Society of Children’s Book Authors and Illustrators, the Ohio Artists and Presenters Network and the Children’s Music Network. "How Rhythm & Blues and Rock Ôn’ Roll Tore Down the Walls of Segregation," with Steve Buckingham

As a producer, Steve Buckingham is a four-time Grammy winner with 27 number one singles to his credit. He has been awarded 11 Platinum and 19 Gold albums. His special relationship with artists, musicians and songwriters has yielded Top Ten singles on 11 different charts: Pop, Country, Rhythm and Blues, Jazz, Adult Contemporary, Americana, Bluegrass, Christian, Hispanic, Triple A, and Dance. For 10 years, Buckingham was the Vice-President of A&R and staff producer for Columbia Records. He served for 11 years as Senior Vice-President of A&R and producer for Vanguard and Sugar Hill Records. Buckingham is also a musical historian and developed How Rhythm & Blues and Rock ’n’ Roll Tore Down the Walls of Segregation as a college course.
