Teaching Symposium to address challenges in teaching
The Teaching Effectiveness Committee at The Ohio State University at Lima hosts "Challenges in Teaching," a teaching symposium, at 2 p.m., Wed., Nov. 14, 2012, in Galvin 119. Presenters are Mohamed Yousif, professor of math, and Doug Sutton-Ramspeck, assistant professor of English.
Yousif will present "Finding the Right Formula," which highlights the pros and cons to both the vertical approach (implementing the latest technology) and the horizontal approach (providing hands-on experience) to teaching. Sutton-Ramspeck will present "The Pedagogy of Storytelling: Teaching with Narratives." He will focus on how teachers can bring storytelling structures into classroom lectures, discussions and activities.
Faculty, staff and students are welcome.
