Visual, performing arts showcased at Ohio State Lima
The departments of art, theatre and music at The Ohio State University at Lima present the Art, Theatre, Music (ATM) Showcase at 7:30 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 21, 2013, in Reed Hall.
The ATM Showcase, "Second Collaboration," depicts where art, theatre and music meet. This program is a study of how fine arts are often intertwined, drawing on each other for inspiration to create new forms of art. In particular, this production examines how a song can include the content of the written word, brought to life through a monologue or scene, as well as how the collision of two forms of multimedia, such as music and image, can often lead to a new interpretation of pictures, songs and words. In this process, songs learned by the a cappella group Carmony were used as a genesis for the writing of original monologues and scenes by students in the Craft of Acting class, as well as the selection of student photography from digital photography classes.
The ATM is free and open to the public.
