Student and Community Center
As OSU – Lima enrollment numbers have grown, there has been an increasing need for additional student space. With the Student and Community Center, OSU – Lima will provide this “soft” space, enhancing students’ overall university experience. In addition, a new fitness area will be incorporated to provide for a healthier lifestyle to both students and community members. Finally, the student services of the University will be brought together in a central location for easy accessibility to students.

To keep costs affordable to our students, we strive to provide as many scholarship opportunities as possible. Currently, we have an endowment principal of $3.1 million, which produces approximately $210,000 in interest entirely for scholarships. Of the $210,000 in funds, $87,000 is funding a scholarship with specific criteria. This leaves $123,000 to be divided among 1,200 students. As the cost of tuition continues to increase, the need to grow the scholarship endowment is paramount.
Each year unanticipated projects arise that provide terrific opportunities for the students, faculty and staff. The Lima Fund is currently the only fund, other than the general operating budget, available to finance these opportunities. To date, the majority of giving is designated to scholarship or outreach. While scholarship remains a top priority, increasing this discretionary fund is critical to ensure the growth of both the campus and community.
