Music
The Lima Area Concert Band
The Lima Area Concert Band will bring some of your favorites to the Ohio
State Lima quad at 7 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2003.
The Olde Michigan Ruffwater String Band
The Olde Michigan Ruffwater String Band’s musical repertoire includes
traditional jigs, reels and hornpipes of the British Isles, old dance tunes
of the Colonies, lumbercamp and sea shanties from Michigan and around the
world, hoedowns and breakdowns from Southern Appalachia, and old polkas,
waltzes and schottisches from 19th century Michigan, the States and Europe.
Their singing reflects a similar variety and span of
time from 19th century Parlour music to Georgia Stringband songs of the
1920's and Bob Wills' Texas Swing Favorites of the 1930's to Big Band Songs
of the 1940's to 4 and 6-part folk and gospel songs popular today.
