Ohio State Lima names new Associate and Assistant Deans, promotes others
The Ohio State University at Lima is happy to announce the promotion and addition of several people to their campus community. All positions are effective immediately.
Dr. Michael A. Cunningham of Lima has been named Associate Dean at The Ohio State University at Lima. Dr. Cunningham is the chief academic officer for the campus. He works closely with the academic departments at Ohio State Columbus and assists the dean in developing and nurturing the academic programs at Ohio State Lima. Dr. Cunningham, an associate professor in the Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology, holds a PhD in Zoology from Colorado State University.
Roger Nimps of Lima has been named Assistant Dean for The Ohio State University at Lima. His responsibilities will expand to coordinate the recruitment of new faculty, assist in the development of new and existing four-year academic programs. He will continue to serve as Director of Off-Campus Credit Programs, which includes oversight of Ohio State Lima’s Bellefontaine Center. Mr. Nimps, who will also continue teaching several American and Ohio history courses each year, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Philosophy from the University of Nebraska and a Masters Degree in American Military History from The Ohio State University.
Linda Stelzer of Wapakoneta has been promoted to the position of Program Coordinator at The Ohio State University at Lima’s Bellefontaine Center. Stelzer oversees the Bellefontaine Center, serves as the point of first contact for students interested in taking Ohio State courses at the Bellefontaine Center, works with other departments on program development and scheduling, and visits schools and businesses to share information and recruit students. The Bellefontaine Center offers students in Logan, Union, Hardin, Champaign and Shelby counties an opportunity to begin their academic studies in a smaller setting close to home while enjoying all the benefits of being an Ohio State student.
Temple Patton of Lima is the new Admissions Counselor and Minority Recruiter in the Office of Enrollment Services and Admissions at The Ohio State University of Lima. Her duties include recruiting students, making information presentations to individuals and groups, assisting students and parents on campus, and collaborating with other campus departments to serve students.
Dr. William V. Ackerman has been named Director of Honors at The Ohio State University at Lima. His duties will include coordinating the Honors Program and course offerings and overseeing honors trips to a variety of locations throughout the year including the Gettysburg National Battlefield, the Everglades National Park, the museums of Chicago and a variety of others. Dr. Ackerman is an associate professor of Geography.
