AP Psychology student to experience University for the day

Members of the AP Psychology class from Lima Senior will have the chance to find out what a future in Psychology could be like.

Nine students in Drew Chiles’ AP Psych course will visit the Department of Psychology at The Ohio State University at Lima from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005.

During their visit, the students will get to experience university life first hand when they sit in on three psychology courses (Intro to Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and Social Psychology). They will also spend time talking with current University students in the psych program about student life, the differences between high school and college, and other opportunities.

Students will be able to talk about the research being done on campus with internationally known hypnosis expert Dr. Joe Green, department chair Dr. Roger Page and Dr. Kathy Fuegen, whose research on stereotypes in the workplace has been garnering national media attention.

9:45 – 10:15 am       Introduction of Psychology Faculty and Staff

                             Dr. Joe Green (departmental research)

                             Rou Rasekhy (psychology major:  sample curriculum)

10:20-11:20 am       Dr. Roger Page (Introductory Psychology class:  GA 118)

11:20-12:30 pm       Dr. Joe Green (Abnormal Psychology class:  GA 330)

12:30-1:30 pm         Lunch (pizza/soft drinks) provided by Ohio State Lima Psychology Club (GA 453)
