For Immediate Release Jan. 13, 2006 CONTACT: Pam Joseph (419) 995-8284 DREAM Team students to attend diversity event New program prepares students for university education High school students participating in the Ohio State University at Lima’s new DREAM (Dare to Reach Excellence, Achievement and Meaning) Team will attend their first event at the Who Was Martin Luther King? Performing Arts and Lecture Series’ performance at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts. The DREAM Team is a university preparatory program designed by Ohio State to help make sure all students capable of achieving a university education have the opportunity to do so. Students from a variety of schools in the area were nominated by their guidance counselors. DREAM Team participants and their parents will receive one-on-one support and counseling concerning college applications, financial aid and scholarship processes. Several group events are also planned, including the Martin Luther King Jr. Day event on campus and the OSU Spring Football Game in Columbus. Participants who successfully meet the program requirements will be awarded a $600 book scholarship for use if they attend Ohio State Lima.
