Livchak named to Lorain Sports Hall of Fame

Rob Livchak, coordinator of Athletics and Recreation at The Ohio State University at Lima and James A. Rhodes State College, will be inducted into the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame at an Enshrinement Banquet on May 4, 2006, in Lorain.

The Lorain Sports Hall of Fame was formed in December 1969 to honor Lorain residents whose names are synonymous with the best in athletic achievement. Livchak was a seven-time letter winner in three sports at Lorain High School.

While Livchak excelled at many sports, baseball has always been his focus and passion. He played four years of college baseball at Ohio University, where he was drafted by the major leagues following his junior season. He elected to finish his university education and eventually signed with the St. Louis Cardinals organization.

In addition to his duties as Athletic Director at the campus, Livchak coaches baseball and women’s basketball. He has been at the campus for 15 years. He has also been the coach for the Lima Locos of the Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League for 12 years.
