Ohio State Lima announces WBL Scholastic Bowl Tournament results

More than 100 high school students competed

Shawnee High School took home the Varsity Championship trophy and the traveling trophy from the Western Buckeye League Scholastic Bowl Tournament held Friday, March 2, 2007, at The Ohio State University at Lima.

Shawnee Varsity team members include Adam Dellinger, Taylor Haycock, Ronni Nimps, Eric Prichard and Clayton Smith with coaches Deb File and Lindsey Fenstermaker.

The Varsity runner up team was from St. Marys High School.  First Place Junior Varsity was also from St. Marys High School. St. Marys team members include Brandon Kill, Jonathan Brenneman, Jameel Brenneman, Ed Larkin, Andy Durkee, Matt Muhlenkamp, Brian Steinbrunner, Patrick Larking, Cody Goble, Tom Scott, Diana Saintignon, Sarah Scott and Mitch Powell, and Coach Chad Doll.

The WBL Scholastic Bowl All Tournament Team was chosen by the coaches and made up of one member from each school. The 2007 All Tournament Team members are Zac Jankovsky from Bath, Joe Shaffer from Celina, Alex Jones from Defiance, Ellen Sunderland from Elida, Ryan Carrig from Kenton, Grant Siefker from Ottawa-Glandorf, Brandon Kill from St. Marys, Ronni Nimps from Shawnee, and Corey Schwartz from Wapakoneta.

High school teams from around western Ohio went head-to-head in the round-robin scholastic bowl tournament. Varsity teams from Bath (Bob Erickson), Celina (Hal Hoover), Defiance (Rae Gambler), Elida (Shelby Cluts), Kenton (Dave Rufener and Robin Hughes), Ottawa Glandorf (Rose Ellerbrock), Shawnee (Deb File and Lindsey Fenstermaker), St. Marys (Chad Doll) and Wapakoneta (Adam Friemering) competed. Coaches’ names are in parenthesis. JV teams from Bath, Celina, Defiance, Elida, Ottawa Glandorf, Shawnee, St. Marys and Wapakoneta also competed.
