The Lima Buckeye Distinction Award will be awarded to new freshmen who enroll full-time. The Award will be based on the student's high school performance and standardized test scores. The following chart gives an estimate of potential scholarship monies available to Ohio State Lima students. These are guaranteed minimum amounts for students who:

  • apply to Ohio State and file their FAFSA by March 3, 2008*
  • pay their acceptance fee by May 1, 2008
  • maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA (to renew scholarship for two years)
* Filing the FAFSA is required but will not limit eligibility for scholarship awards.
** Including equivalent SAT scores

Those students who do not meet the March 3 deadline will be awarded as long as funds are available.

Application Documents

You may print, complete and return the following forms to the Financial Aid office:

  • General Scholarship Application (Deadline March 3, 2008) Undergraduate & Graduate Students
  • Rudd Scholars Application (Deadline March 3, 2008) (printable copy) Freshmen only
  • Osborn Family Application (Deadline April 25, 2008) Freshmen only
  • Griffith Family Application (Deadline April 1, 2008) Freshmen & Undergraduate Students

  • Arthur & Marian Rudd Scholars - Six new freshmen students are named Rudd Scholars each academic year; three will receive full-tuition scholarships, and three will receive half-tuition scholarships renewable for a maximum of 12 quarters while attending Ohio State Lima. Students must be enrolled full-time and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to Allen and Auglaize County students who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship cannot be combined with any other Ohio State Lima scholarships.

    Martha Farmer Theatre Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded by the Theatre Department to undergraduate theatre majors and minors who are enrolled at Ohio State Lima. (General Scholarship Application)

    Griffith Family Scholarship - These funds provide an award to a deserving current student or a new student from Hardin County attending Ohio State Lima. The recipient must have a background in agriculture, but doesn't have to pursue a degree in the field. The recipient will be selected by the Hardin County Alumni Association.

    Osborn Family Scholarship - Preference for this scholarship is given to students attending Ohio State Lima who have graduated from a Putnam County High School with community service and/or high school involvement. This scholarship is awarded by the Osborn family.

    J. McLean Reed Scholarship - Preference for this scholarship is given to students who demonstrate leadership and excel in music. The Music Department awards this scholarship. (General Scholarship Application)

    Looking for outside help?

    You may be awarded outside scholarships through churches, professional, civicor service organizations, or private foundations. Often school counselors can providemore information on these. Listed below are some good websites to search for scholarship opportunities.
