TIP 1 -
Apply for a Federal PIN. If you are dependent, your parent will need to apply for a Federal PIN also. This will allow you to sign your application electronically and you'll be able to make corrections and track your FAFSA online. You can apply for your PIN any time so it's available when you're ready to complete your FAFSA. It is very important to keep these PINs in a safe area, because these will be reused every year until the student graduates. TIP 2 - Complete and submit your FAFSA by March 3 for the next academic year. Do not wait to find out if you have been admitted! March 3 is the Ohio State scholarship application deadline as well as the priority filing date for certain other types of aid, including Federal Work Study, Federal Perkins Loan, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant.
TIP 3 - File electronically at FAFSA on the Web. It's faster, it's easier, and it's more user-friendly than the paper application. Complete the FAFSA on the Web Worksheet first and you'll sail through the process! You'll need to gather these documents in order to complete either the worksheet or paper FAFSA:
TIP 4 - When filing your FAFSA, avoid processing delays by:
