Services & Resources

In addition to the 80,000 volumes and 400+ journal subscriptions in the Lima Campus Library, you also have access to items from other Ohio State University campuses using the OSU Library Catalog.  You can also request items from other colleges and universities around the state by using the OhioLINK statewide catalog.

Library databases also provide access to thousands of online journals. If you are using them from off-campus, please first click on either How Do I . . . Work from Home (OSU) or How Do I . . . Work from Home (Rhodes) to log in.

Also, the Lima Public Library has a collection in the Lima Campus Library. If you have a card at the Lima Public Library, you may check out these items. If you don't have a card, we can sign you up.

The Lima Campus Library also has a conference room available for small groups. It is equipped with a DVD/VCR and a whiteboard. You may reserve this room by calling 419-995-8401. The Library also has a number of VCRs for individual use in the audiovisual room; headphones are required when using these.

The Library has two copiers. Copies are 10 cents a page.

Hold and Recall Information

You may place a hold for most circulating items listed as "Available" or checked out no matter what location these items are from. Items will be retrieved and held for you at the library you select. An item checked out by another patron will be recalled from that patron, moving forward the due date on the material. If you receive a recall notice, please respond to it quickly; you will be fined if you do not return it by the new due date. Ohio State University overdue fines accrue at the rate of $10/day per recalled item to a maximum of $100. Items with holds may not be renewed.

Fines and Charges (OSU Items) Fines and Charges (OhioLINK)
Recall Fines - Fine of $10.00/day if the item is not returned by the new due date.

2-Hour Reserve Fines - $2/first hour, $5 per hour thereafter to a maximum of $102.

1-Week Reserve Fines - $5/first day, $10 per day thereafter to a maximum of $105.

OhioLINK books may be borrowed for 21 days. If at the end of the original loan period, the item has not been requested by another user, you may renew that item one more time for another 21 days. If the item is not returned by the due date, fines accrue at the rate of $.50/day.

Lost and Billed (The Ohio State University)

Long overdue items are assumed lost. The cost of replacement as well as a billing fee will be charged to the borrower. Once the items are returned, the replacement fee will be waived. The billing fee, however, must be paid. Patrons with lost and billed items are blocked from borrowing until the charges are settled and the balance is less than $75. Items reported as returned will be searched for promptly. If the items are not found, you will be charged the replacement cost.

Lost and Billed (OhioLINK)

When an assumed lost item is returned, both the processing fee of $35 and the replacement charge of $15 will be charged to the patron.

Library Notices

All library notices are sent via e-mail to both OSU and Rhodes State College patrons. Paper notices will be sent only when no e-mail account is available.

Library users will need to check their e-mail or view their library records online to know the status of their checkouts and hold requests.
